Well are you happy now?

I remember seeing countless posts from people insinuating that Hillary and Drumpf were the same. How? who knows- all they kept harping was that Hillary had rigged the system and blah blah blah. A lot of them claimed to stay at home and not help Hillary with the election

Sec. Clinton would have stood up for equal rights for everyone. She would have never let those pipelines be built. She would have protected Obamacare.

For me the people who argued that Sec. Clinton was equally as bad as Trump are a bunch of idiots as well. I don't care if me calling them idiots hurts their feelings because it is the truth.

Well are you same people happy now? Enjoy 8 years of Trump and stop complaining about every little thing he does because to me you are directly linked to his victory as well. So OWN it.

Some voters are always far left, some are always far right, some support Libertarians, some support Vegetarians, some support Monarchists. That is part of the background noise for all national elections. Democrats don't own all Anti-Republican voters - never have and never will, but we often win elections anyway. This time we didn't. We can blame our own candidate, or we can blame the media, or we can blame the FBI, or we can blame Russia. But if you prefer blaming a segment of the electorate I would suggest working class white voters in the rust belt who voted for Obama but who lost faith in the ability of the Democratic Party to defend their interests. Alternately you could blame African American voters for not turning out for Clinton in the same record breaking numbers as they did for Obama; not that any person of sound mind should ever have expected them to exactly replicate the extent of enthusiasm that was shown for our first African American President.

You're right, Dems sometimes win elections despite the far left's efforts to elect Republicans. But in this particular election, the margin was so thin that any of a number of factors could have thrown it the other way.

It wasn't only the far left. Comey played a role, Putin played a role, the media giving free advertising to Trump and obsessing about nothing "scandals" like the emails played a role. And the far left, the Green party, the Bernie or Bust people booing at the convention, all that played a role too.

Sure, there was a lot of back-and-forth during the primaries, but as soon as the outcome became clear, the back-and-forth stopped being about who should be the Democratic nominee, but rather about whether the Democratic nominee should be supported at all, or whether it would make any difference (or even be better) if Trump would win.

And it wasn't a small thing, there were tons of threads about it. Also, it didn't start there, the same trolls pushing Trump were for years arguing that Obama was no different than a Republican, or worse.

The thing is, the far left has been implicitly (and sometimes overtly, like Nader) helping the GOP for two decades now. And anyone who has been on DU for a while (I've been here since early W) has seen this dynamic, not only in national politics, but also here on DU.

The term I served on MIRT, trolls seemed to be IDed quick. Admin chose to limit MIRT ability to delete members under 100 posts. The Admins chose to delete members over 100 posts. Personally I wish that were an intermedate way to deal with members w/ 101-250 or so during an election year.

Those who have learned from the horrible outcome of the election, have...learned. Those who won't or can't, aren't going to have a "come-to-Jesus" moment where they wail and rend their garments and beg forgiveness.

In the meantime, everyone, please, get back up on the front lines. We're ALL needed for this fight for our democracy and our very lives.

I don't fully blame Bernie supporters. There were a minority who took their attacks to new lows, comparable to Trump's. But it led me to thinking about the campaign between her and Trump.

They were repugnant and vile. I'm fucking pissed about how she was dragged through the mud along with her family while many cheered it on with "lock her up".

The hate for her was so strong that so many didn't give a shit what kind of scum Trump was.

With every vile action that fucker takes in the WH, it's one more reason to never forgive the Trump supporters for what's happening to this country.

It's got me too angry and too bitter right now. All I can do is writer letters and march for what I know in my heart is right. Maybe that'll get these negative emotions out of me.
