Looks like Rick Scott is ready for some of that, um good, federal assistance.
Tropical Storm Debby shifts direction, Central Florida under tornado watch
Tropical Storm Debby appears to have shifted direction as the weakened system continues to churn toward Florida's Gulf Coast, bringing it a bit closer to Central Florida and prompting state officials to declare a state of emergency.
Gov. Rick Scott activated the state's emergency operations center Monday after the storm battered much of the Gulf Coast with torrential rain and strong winds and spawning tornadoes across the state.
The entire Central Florida region is under a tornado watch until 11 p.m., as the unorganized system marches slowly to the northeast. It will likely pass over northern Lake and Volusia counties later this week.
At 1 p.m. on Monday, the storm was in the northern Gulf of Mexico about 50 miles south
