NYDN: Muslim ban excludes countries linked to his sprawling business empire

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/trump-muslim-ban-excludes-countries-linked-businesses-article-1.2957956
snip statistics show that nearly 3,000 Americans were killed by citizens from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Turkey in the same time period — with the bulk of those killed being victims of the 9/11 attacks. Yet, people from those four countries are still welcome to apply for U.S. visas and travel permits.

snip

Saudi Arabia
Trump registered eight companies tied to hotel interests in the country shortly after launching his campaign in August 2015, according to The Washington Post.

Turkey
According to an extensive Bloomberg News tally on the President’s perceived conflicts of interest, Trump currently licenses his name to two luxury towers in the Turkish capital Istanbul.

He received as much as $5 million from the deals last year, according to his latest financial disclosures. Furthermore, since the election, Trump’s development partner, Dogan Sirketler Grubu Holding, has seen its shares surge by nearly 11%.

Egypt
In Egypt, Trump’s business holdings are characteristically vague. His latest Federal Election Commission filing lists two companies in the country, Trump Marks Egypt and Trump Marks Egypt LLC, both of which are most likely connected to a development venture.

Dubai
The Trump Organization has a licensing and management deal in Dubai for two golf courses and a whole neighborhood of luxury villas currently under construction. The second golf course was designed by Tiger Woods.

In the next Presidential election, we will have many voters that have never heard of 9/11. So their thoughts on Saudis are going to be pretty open minded.

But it's obvious you don't want to get the point. Please take the last word. I'm done with your ignorance.

his conflict of interest once again.

He only bans travel here from countries where he has no business interests; while he allows visitors from countries -- that have actually produced terrorists who have attacked the US -- as long as he does business there.

There is no explanation except he is being self-serving. He is only naming countries where he doesn't have hotels or other business interests. The countries where he does business are off he hook, even the ones that produced terrorist attacks against us.

This is not about religious bigotry; it is about money. Donald Trump could not care less about protecting the American people from Muslim terrorists. If all of the countries he placed bans on had done business with him they may not have been banned. I wonder if each of these countries will slowly be dropped from the list once Trump's sons are able to ink deals with those countries. So, Trump may be using fear to enrich his family.

Does Trump or whoever wrote up the order he signed know off the top of their heads exactly which countries do or do not have some sort of Trump business in them? Or did someone in the office of the FAITWH* contact someone at Trump Inc. to confirm which countries should or should not be in the executive order?
