However he did not get the chance. They left him with America about to fall apart in 2008. With the ME a flaming mess. So he never got to resend so many horrible orders by Bush-Cheney and they have picked up right where they left off in 2008.

I hate republicans. I despise their leaders.

I've seen other individual pols like Sen Gillibrand and Murphy and others speak out and give them credit and encouragement. I'm with you though, we need high profile, serious people to step up.

of rope, for now, which may burn the house down (God help us all), but it will give them a clear voice and possibly more responsive ears from those who voted for this fraud. Right now, Trump is throwing red meat at his base and they are lapping it up. But, the tide will change very soon. Isn't Katherine Hepburn in that one? This is what we need in these times of stress. Old movies to show that they did get through the tough times --and I mean the real ones in their day.

All sorts of WWII era films on You tube. It is fun to contrast their "style" with ours today. We've lost some of our luster since then, imo.

OTOH, it's encouraging to see the difference in attitudes towards women/minorities/class between then and now. All in all, I enjoy them.

George W. Bush Addresses Muslims in the Aftermath of the 9/11 Attacks

September 20, 2001

I also want to speak tonight directly to Muslims throughout the world. We respect your faith. It's practiced freely by many millions of Americans and

by millions more in countries that America counts as friends. Its teachings are good and peaceful, and those who commit evil in the name of Allah blaspheme the name of

Allah. The terrorists are traitors to their own faith, trying, in effect, to hijack Islam itself. The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends. It is not our many Arab

friends. Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists and every government that supports them.

This is not just a bad week in politics. This is a geopolitical war being waged by Russia against the USA. Do you think Putin cares what Democratic ex-presidents have to say about anything?

It's a lot more accurate to think of Trump as a Russian Special Forces General who has occupied the WH.

If the ex-presidents speak out it might rally international opinion a bit, but it won't alter the tactics in play at the WH.
