We use this at home and have only used these specific napkins for the past fifteen years.
Now I find out they're a Koch Industries product and I must find a replacement of similar quality.
Any recommendations?

(24,229 posts)I use those too. Now I need a new brand too.
thanks for the list.
I heard someone was working on an app for this list which would be great.

(102,297 posts)for sit-down eating and paper towels for "on-the-run"...I find washing a couple of dozen "real" washable. napkins with a load of dishtowels, and other similar, and letting them air dry on a rack, is not that big a deal and it does save some.
I buy no-name paper towels, after making sure they are not a Georgia Pacific Product. I guess that is about all you can do... They are truly everywhere.
Edited to correct Brawny (koch) for Bounty (non-Koch)

(6,799 posts)I think it is Brawny. I love Bounty paper towels. Kleenex makes some very good napkins. Also, Kroger napkins are very, very good as are Albertsons.

(39,451 posts)It's the same thing - but cheaper.
Then again - who knows if Koch has their grubby hands in making these.
I totally agree when it comes to napkins, there is no comparison. They cost more, but you use less.
Try the Safeway ones.

(9,656 posts)They look about the same, but I also don't know who makes them. Most of the time, though, we use cloth napkins. Wash, dry and fold and you can buy them for not a lot of money. The only paper towels I buy are Viva. They don't fall apart until after serious use. And I don't care who makes them. I want them to do the job, and they do.

(27,310 posts)can be used as rags. If you buy ones with a design, the best ones are all-woven (that is, not printed) cotton.
If you have a minimal amount of sewing skills, they are very easy to make.

(11,362 posts)... and switching to cloth napkins. It's not as big of a hassle as it sounds. You can just throw them in the laundry with your clothes.

(41,832 posts)glad it's Brawny. I buy Bounty towels in bulk.

(41,832 posts)get real. Washing and ironing them is not very efficient either.
Now that I think of it, they are not for me either. It's just my husband and me.
I only use cloth for company or special occasions.
I use cloth napkins and always have even when my kids were little. I just found that the paper ones didn't hold up well for my guys. Now I realize that they have to be washed, dried and folded, but you have to do that with clothing anyway, so throwing in a few napkins each day was not that big a deal. At least it wasn't for me. I use Bounty towels, though I prefer to use rags (from the old cloth napkins). I also found that Greenwise paper products are pretty good. They have bathroom tissue, paper towels, and napkins. Something to look into.

(41,832 posts)Each person has their own way. I hate laundry. I buy Bounty in bulk. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks so I don't have more laundry.
I'd rather scrub my toilets than do laundry.
