http://www.kvoa.com/story/34374254/moon-slides-by-venus-over-the-next-few-daysTUCSON - Watch the moon sweep by Venus to wrap up the month of January.
On Sunday night look to the west just after sunset (5:55pm Tucson time) to see the two brightest objects in our night sky, the moon and Venus. The thin waxing crescent moon will be rather low in the sky so catch it soon after sunset before it disappears.
As we progress through the last few days of the month the crescent moon will appear higher up in the sky at sunset and stay out a little longer after dark. The moon is sliding away from the setting sun and toward the planet Venus, so after sunset on January 30 look for the moon to be even closer to Venus in the evening sky eventually sweeping right by that planet and then Mars to round out the month.

I have been watching the movement in the evenings, when it's clear enough. They show up just at that magic glow time after sunset.

I had intended to look up what I saw on my drive this evening, however it had slipped my mind until now.
Thanks for the OP!
