who depend on a lot of H1b visas, for better or worse.

His fucking around with trade will hurt our agriculture businesses, which is a huge chunk of the economy. And, of course, we are a major west coast port that stands to lose billions if a real trade war crops up.

We realized all that and voted blue. The red states screwed us.

With so many cheaper foreign workers available, it's near impossible for someone local to get a job.

I don't agree with all the concessions given to big companies regarding visas either, in particular, I was outraged a few years ago when they sneaked in a bill in Washington to grant in-state tuition at state universities to family members of foreign workers, which I thought was completely unnecessary. And I think that companies could invest a lot more in training workers.

However, most of the people helped by these visa concessions don't come from the affected countries and I don't see Trump offering any incentives to hire and train Americans, either. This is just jingoistic bluster, and it's hurting real people, all of whom were approved to come here anyway.

I worked there last cycle and LOVED It so much that I didn't want to get on my flight home. I'm on a 2 year plan to move back out there and this makes me want to even more.
