We Can Sue All We Want. Trump & Associates Will Just Ignore The Courts. Tney Are Digging In.

These few days do not look promising. It looks like Trump and his boys are digging in. The reply to the diplomats, the purges and the firings to come is probably just the beginning of a combative Trump administration. The problem is what we can do about it. Certainly the GOP is going to just stand aside as long as they get what they want. And in some places the GOP will retaliate and punish.

The problem is who is going to enforce what the courts declare. The Trump administration of course will obey the courts where they get what they want.

to know better. The problem will be in getting a court decision that goes against Trump. All the experts I've heard today have said that the courts give great deference to the Presidents regI parding immigration policy and likely will not try and second guess the President unless he's in violation of the Constitution. If Trump is smart enough to craft a policy which doesn't violate our current laws, he might be able to get away with it. My guess is that it might be the GOP Congress that stops him because they are concerned about our relationships with our allies including the Iraqis who are helping us in the war against ISIS and other extremist groups, and our European allies many who have taken in refugees in far greater numbers than we have and who are not whining like a bunch of pu$$ies even after having been the victims of terrorist attacks themselves.

I personally have no fear of dying from a terrorist attack, AT ALL. The way I view it, I have a greater fear of my husband and 2 grown sons all with college degrees and none having ever been in trouble with the law, being killed or maimed by a law enforcement officer with a twitchy finger on a trigger than they have a chance of being killed by a terrorist. And my family which has a lot of law enforcement officers in it, including my husband who's retired. But when I think of that Teacher who was shot when his girlfriend was pulled over and he told the cop that he had a concealed weapon, it scares me because my husband as a retired law enforcement officer has a concealed weapon permit and if we are ever pulled over, that is the first thing he lets the officer know. My concern is that the officer might someday only hear the 'weapon part' and start firing.

Also, I learned recently that one of my son's driver's side power window was not working and he couldn't let it down. I asked him why he hadn't fixed it yet and he said that they wanted too much money to fix it. ($500) So I asked him what would he do if he was stopped by the police and couldn't let down his driver's side window. He said he would let down the rear window, which is what he does when he goes through a drive thru restaurant. I told him that if he was approached by a policeman during a traffic stop and he let down his rear driver side window when the officer approached, that he'd be lucky if he wasn't shot. I gave him the $500 that day to get the window fixed. It scared me to death to learn that he'd been driving around for a year with a driver's side window that wouldn't go down. He thought I was overreacting but when he saw my reaction he knew that my fear was real. Of course as it turns out, it took several days to get the parts in before it could be fixed and I sweated bullets (no pun intended) until I knew it was fixed.

I'm sorry but black people don't get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to close encounters with law enforcement in most major metropolitan cities in this country. I wish that was not my reality, but unfortunately it is.
