By Sean Colarossi on Mon, Jan 30th, 2017 at 9:04 pm
During a protest of Donald Trumps recent Muslim ban by Senate Democrats, Sen. Elizabeth Warren stormed the floor of the U.S. Senate to ask her Republican colleagues to show some backbone and stand up to the new president.
Warren rattled off a list of Republicans who voiced opposition to Trumps Muslim ban during the campaign, including Vice President Mike Pence, and asked why they arent standing up to him today.
Where are you? she said after calling out GOP leaders that are silent now but opposed Trumps proposal during the campaign.

Warren said:
President Trump ignored these Republican leaders and today these Republican leaders will not stand up for what is right, Warren added.

Yeah, everybody's going to screw up from time to time. Heck, I think I've made some blunders here and there. Warren's baffling vote for Carson really didn't make a difference, and she isn't going to get any consideration or credit from the Republicans for it. Perhaps it was a show vote to appeal to public opinion later? "I haven't opposed everything out of the administration." Weak tea, maybe, but tea nevertheless.
If we stay out there, if we keep demonstrating, pushing back, asking questions, not cooperating, and showing our elected officials that we're serious about this, they may be encouraged to join us with some confidence that we have their electoral back.
Or we can keep a tally of every slight, every blunder, every miscalculation, every last time they failed or displeased us, and carp about those never-to-be-forgiven sins even when they're doing something righteous.

(17,276 posts)I sincerely hope some discussions are going on behind closed doors! They run in packs: maybe if enough of them band together they can screw up the courage to do something.

(10,495 posts)These are our leaders? They do not represent the will of the people, they represent themselves and their big Donors!
When will we attack the root cause that gives us such morally bankrupt "Representatives?" When will we eliminate the legal purchasing of our representatives and their illegal quid pro quo's?
I will tell you what, they do not represent me!
