i know this weekend was really shitty, but it's been heartening to see so many American Jews

stand up against the Muslim ban.

I think there was something particularly powerful about Jewish people specifically talking about refugees and the importance of us accepting refugees, especially during the Holocaust Remembrance Day.

it was really both sad (because of what happened and our not so great history with Jewish refugees) but also really beautiful.

...and points to the inherent goodness of many. I have been moved to tears FREQUENTLY over the past week or so, seeing such diversity speaking with one fantastic voice.

My neighbors, and my SIL and her family couldn't be more mortified.

But I know 2 elderly Jewish couples (in their 80s) who voted FOR *. The husband in one of them, also my neighbor, fled Berlin as a child and was a Jewish Refugee.

For them, HRC may have stood up to Likud at some point, and they couldn't have that.

I have a number of friends who attended the Houston protests. This sign was at the Houston protest

I also saw some video on Twitter of a guy blowing a Shofar at the protests. You cannot get more Jewish than bringing your own Shofar to a protest

I was on the phone with one of the Muslim precinct chairs in my county and he has noticed the support from the Jewish community

Not said this was planned before Trump was inaugurated and - not mentioned - a couple of Muslim highschool girls did some slam poetry that was amazing and very well received. (Their web site - http://muslimgirlsmakingchange.weebly.com/shows.html )
