They, whoever and wherever they are...are doing what you and I are doing..
LISTENING...WAITING..WATCHING..TRYING TO COMPREHEND IT ALL
I`wasn't sure before, but now I am sure...sounds kind of off..it isn't...What they are listening, waiting, and watching and trying to comprehend..is this: "Are we going to impeach him"....how bad is he?..How far do we go?..They will act fast and swift if they ever act..
The ultimate embarrassment ....impeaching a member of their own party...their President, ...not Clinton...not Obama..but their guy...so here is what I am thinking..that they are thinking..
.."It is getting bad..seems like he has "no control"...but..maybe..just maybe...he will change..maybe the family will help...?? we will try to intervene... We will talk to him...give him insight. relax him..whatever..But if it gets clear, that we are all in danger...we will act......We will get 2/3 of the Senate to get rid of him if it is necessary.
Now....you may say no...but I am sure,.. when or if that thing happens, whatever that defining moment is... they will act.....Right now, they are thinking.."Just how bad is he?"...That is what we are all thinking...

(38,449 posts)that impeachment will become a necessity. And further, if it becomes a necessity, that leadership..will take the credit for saving the world from an unstable leader. They will twist it so...they are the heroes ..they, the Republicans saved the country from this .."unstable leader"..You say no..ok..
...I do not know nothing...this is all kinda a wild guess...Kinda thinking out loud.....so..I hope I am wrong, and we never get to that point...Yes..I hope we never get there.........

(52,352 posts)yes, plenty of the faithful will remain loyal, committed republicans no matter how bad the shitshow becomes, and keep voting republicans even after impeachment.
but they'll still lose a lot of support, just as everyone basically knew republicans were never going to win in 2008. shrub was just too damaging to their brand.
assassination, on the other hand, is a win-win for republican leaders (i'm certainly not advocating that for many reasons).

(38,449 posts)It is written here in another thread, that this morning he was talking about..
" ratings for a TV show that he lead".. and how important that is compared to the new TV show person..and how that new person criticized him...
People are thinking.."Just how important is that to be a point of discussion for the President of the United States?"
So..they are thinking, weighing, trying to analyze the situation.. That is happening now. We are all thinking like this..not just some leadership...
.......... I hope it doesn't get to that point..where the OP talks about..

(34,845 posts)I agree, if this continues -and there is no sign now that it won't- there will come a time when they have to throw him overboard.

(4,742 posts)I mean really...they can just say "Let's let Trump do the dirty work...then we'll impeach him and still have the House, Senate, and President Pence."

(5,152 posts)Things would have to been much worse before they would act.
His poll numbers are solid whether we like it or not. That is
going to have to change. And remember they are on a diet of
Alternative Facts.
They actually believe that our protestors are being paid by Soros.
Now where did that idea come from.....
Stuart G
(38,449 posts)I hope we don't get there...ever.....but, if it does get .."much worse"...which is hard to imagine what will happen....then they will act...and again...I hope that it never goes there...ever....for all of us ..

(5,152 posts)that we assumed he would not be nominated or elected. He was jus to awful
from our perspective and now that he is president we are assuming that
everyone will see what we do. But we just can not count on it.
Stuart G
(38,449 posts)The future?? We don't know. Most assumed he would not be "nominated or elected"..You are right, and he is there illegally ..but we can count on nothing in the future..Yes, people are seeing what he is doing..perhaps all are seeing....But, counting on specific and positive action ??? for the entire country???
.......it is the future....

(15,290 posts)the Republicans are more scared of us than they are of Trump. From the way congresscritters like Pat Toomey and other Pennsylvania GOP Reps are scurrying around and ducking constituents, I'm not sure it will be that much longer. Toomey is particularly interesting because he's not up for re-election until 2022 and he is hiding already from his constituents.

(8,999 posts)as the Constitution is deeply flawed re impeachment.
twitler will use every ruse to stall and refuse etc etc
They may do some sealed bargain with him behind the scenes. Let him stay in the WH while Pence runs the real disckheads out.
