FBI Dir. Comey this morning sent a letter to Chairman Gowdy informing the committee that the FBI is opening an investigation of former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton. Comey said that while it is unusual to inform Congress of ongoing FBI investigations, the horror of the Bolling Green attack, the terror it generated in the community, and the political value to the GOP over weighs any concerns regarding not following standard procedures. Comey concluded by saying that based on very preliminary evidence, he has already lined up a prosecutor to fast-track this case.
