Kellyanne Conway took to Twitter on Friday to walk back her comments on MSNBC's Hardball about a nonexistent terrorist attack in Bowling Green, Kentucky. However, this wasn't the first time she used the words "Bowling Green massacre" in an on-the-record conversation with a reporter.
In an earlier interview with Cosmopolitan.com, she not only used this same phrase but also went a step further in describing the actions of the two Iraqi men involved in the case to which she was referring.

(70,614 posts)On Friday morning, Ms. Conway admitted she had put out wrong information. Honest mistakes
abound, she wrote on Twitter and pointed to missteps the news media had made in covering
the Trump administration.
********
It was not "honest mistakes" they were lies.
The B.G.M. never happened.
President Obama did not put a travel ban on Iraqis after the B.G.M..
And now it turns out this wasn't the first time that KAC talked about the B.G.M.

(14,924 posts)about where she got her "facts" that allege that the two went back to the Middle East for training, since there is nothing about this in the DOJ memo. Either she is doubling down on a lie, or has just publicly leaked secret info. Which is it? We deserve to know. Sean? Kellyanne? Donald? Will one of you give us a straight answer about this? Will anyone besides a Cosmo columnist have the journalists chops to push back on it?
"But the DOJ release makes no mention of the men returning to the Middle East for training.
The May 2011 indictment and complaints do not mention the men returning to the Middle East at any time for training either.
........
Asked specifically where she got her information about the men joining ISIS and going back to the Middle East for training, she said, "I know when they were radicalized and received a briefing."
............
Asked again about her claim that the men went back to the Middle East and why that wasn't in court documents, she said she couldn't answer that."

(90,792 posts)If they ever want to use an attack for an excuse to go full-blown tyrant, they'll just make one up.
And people will believe it actually happened.
They call actual massacres a hoax (Sandy Hook) and call things that never happened a massacre.
Conway lied. She intentionally lied. She was attempting to plant a memory of an event that never happened to enrage people.

Trump's people definitely want something bad to happen, either a war with someone or some horrible attack. It's disgusting how much they openly hate America just to get an excuse to take more power for themselves.

(31,261 posts)They claim that law enforcement, the FBI and the CIA love them (I won't dispute that claim given the nature of the people involved), then they turn around and claim those very same people remained silent while President Obama covered up criminal acts and massacres. The sad thing is that a large percentage of 63 million Americans believe that hogwash.
In today's modern world, no significant event can happen in a city without being recorded on several smartphones and being in the hands of several media outlets within an hour.

She is souless. I do not say that lightly. I have a brother that is a diagnosed psycopath. I can't be physically near him without feeling sick. When I look at pictures of her it shakes me to the core. Conway, Bannon, Dump - we are dealing with evil. No question about it.

No one person can keep up with all the lies and mis-information ... however, the people backing them up are paid to be on top of this. In the case of Tweety, I wonder whether he chose to ignore producers and fact checkers (I have difficulty believing they missed this)

(3,910 posts)Kellyanne Conjob's words "Bowling Green Massacre" we're said that way by design to create as much media attention as possible. It was a set up. We can't ever forget bannon is evil and is pulling the strings. Bannon's goal is to bring about a holy war pitting Christians against Muslims while simultaneously delegitimizing liberalism, the gay community, blacks and Jews. Bannon instituted the travel ban not to keep people out but to elicit responses from the media, the public, and the judiciary to be used against them at a later time. The seven countries were chosen because trump had no business interests in them so we would be goaded into making it an issue. Bannon knew the travel ban would be overturned. He was counting on it being overturned. When the ban is lifted what happens if an Iraqi refugee with unknown Isis beliefs surreptitiously eludes the vetting process enters the U.S. Connects with radicals here and is responsible for a massacre.Trump is vindicated. Trumps tweet "just can't believe a judge would put our country in such peril" becomes very profound.Kellyanne conjob's bowling green massacre now has some round about relevance. The media is silenced, the public is silence, the judiciary is reluctant to overturn any security orders. Bannon can now move ahead with impunity.Bannon goes into full authoritarian mode.DECLARES WAR ON ISIS(in his mind all Muslims)Trump is able to lift sanctions with Russia freeing him up from being blackmailed.game, set, match we're all fucked.

(36,478 posts)It's amazingly sad to go from a prudent policy to an outright ban steeped in paranoia in a few short weeks.
I thought Spicer was going to be the first to be hauled away to the rubber room, but I'm bumping Bannon to the top of the list. That is, if Bannon doesn't stroke out first.

(3,910 posts)The point about no countries trump has business ties to. Bannon wanted people to react just the way they did. It was a diversion.
