(trump, bannon and just about all of his cabinet) who to a MAN used the system and privilege to avoid service?

How do they get their heads to wrap around that, especially now when it is clear rump/bannon or Fuckface Von Pussygrabber and his boyfriend are willing to send them in when it is not safe?

Sure he has appointed some generals, but other than them, I mean.

Bannon was an officer in the United States Navy for seven years in the late 1970s and early 1980s, serving on the destroyer USS Paul F. Foster as a Surface Warfare Officer in the Pacific Fleet and stateside as a special assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon

Hang over from the baby killer phase some of the protesters painted our Vietnam vets with. Having Jane Fonda sitting on a North Viet Nam AA gun and telling our soldiers they shouldn't be there is going to have a lasting impact.

Here is a link to a McGovern button. I doubt it was approved, but it said "Come Home and Stop Killing Little Babies"

Also I hate to say it but an expanded military and potential for additional conflict is good for military careers. I got that vibe from a family member in the Air Force when Clinton was looking to collect on the Peace dividend.

Usually there is a lag (from 10 to 20 years) until folks realize you know - that war we fought wasn't a really good idea. That sentiment (resulting from the Spanish American War and World War I) was a real driver for delaying our involvement in World War II. I know I would have been for staying out all the way until Pearl Harbor.

But did you noticed the little "adjustment" they made to the story today? Now everyone involved agreed at the time that it was worth the risks. That is not the statement made in the original story by some of those involved. One was a general, iirc.
