Appeasing the Senate's leadership and then telling the people at home you stood up to Trump is b.s. and I hope they don't get away with it

(6,044 posts)As long as the voters are seen as the rubes back home, we are living not in reality but a virtual or false reality where we are manipulated.
Is this a case where the Republican leadership says, OK Susan and Lisa we've the Republican votes for DeVos, so she can get confirmed without your votes. All you have to do is vote her out of committee and we give you permission to vote against her on the floor?
Then Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins go home respectively to Alaska and Maine and report that they voted against DeVos but she got confirmed without them.
