Ouch...DOJ stuttering, saying it was a campaign thing and shouldn't be counted..
BULLSHIT....wasn't this a recent comment?
DOJ could not deny Trump said it to Ghooliani.

(82,849 posts)When Republicans were looking to overturn one of President Obama's executive orders, the challengers (Republican governors) successfully introduced a public statement Obama had made in reference to the order, helping to overturn it. Turns out the courts are applying the same rules to each side. Which I'm sure President Trump will deem to be unfair in a series of late night tweets that practically reek of alcohol.

He is so desperate to be seen as an important, influential player.

(65,487 posts)in a Trump administration. He is still biting his tongue, not saying most of what he thinks about Trump's idiocy and incompetence.
Instead he criticizes the aides only, saying they are not serving Trump well, clearly intimating that Trump should call on him, bring him to the WH as a fixer to get things under control for him.
Like Giuliani, Christie is a has-been, and like Giuliani, he is desperate to be important again.

(2,573 posts)stop pretending *Judges* like we don't know the true motivation behind this. The man says he wants to institute a ban against Muslims....he does so using Obama's list as "cover"....Gooliani spills the beans and Trashpot reiterates it in a video interview...WHAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE??

(9,974 posts)But he wanted the ban to look legal. He asked for Ghouliani for advice on how to carry out the ban.
Ghouliani's saying that showed that drumf, indeed, was looking to ban solely on religion.
And this was not a misquote in a news article...it was said in a TV interview and came straight from Ghouliani who is no doubt now kicking himself (and drumf is probably wanting to kick him, also).

(14,275 posts)It is called "actually telling us". They can't contain their glee at being able to game us that they just blurt or tweet it out.
Most people play checkers. Obama was said to have played 11th dimensional chess. Trump and company have yet to master Chutes and Ladders.

(7,257 posts)To paraphrase: Rudy brags that in that past week, Trump had done more than Rooseveldt did in a hundred days. Pirro agrees enthusiastically, they both start chortling delightedly, and says she knows it, he not only hit the ground running, he's been airborne since the first 24 hours. Rudy says he knows it, they both know Trump personally (how cozy), "This man doesn't sleep!"
Then Rudy's off on the roll in the quote above.
It would be fun if the whole thing was sunk not just by Rudy, but by Fox News ...

JEANINE PIRRO: Does the ban have anything to do with religion? How did the President decide that seven countries? I understand the permanent ban on the refugees
RUDY GIULIANI: OK.
JP: OK. Talk to me.
RG: Ill tell you the whole history of it. When he first announced it he said Muslim ban. He called me up he said put a commission together. Show me the right way to do it legally. I put a commission together with Judge Mukasey, with Congressman McCaul, Pete King, whole group of very expert lawyers on this. And what we did was we focused on instead of religion, danger. The areas of the world that create a danger for us, which is a factual basis not a religious basis. Perfectly legal, perfectly sensible and that's what the ban is based on. It's not based on religion it's based on places where there are substantial evidence that people are sending terrorists into our country.
KG: That was White House adviser Rudy Giuliani speaking on FOX News this weekend. U.S. President Trump in an interview with the Christian Broadcast Network promised to give priority to Christian refugees while banning refugees from seven predominantly Muslim countries. Later in the program the head of a conservative think tank in Washington will tell us why he supports the travel ban and an Iranian scientist who was headed to Harvard tells us about being barred from getting on her flight.
