Could chumps presidency in a short period of time lead to a collapse of the US?

Tonight I am so upset about a Sessions being confirmed as AG. I feel that tonight and in the next few days people are going to get just as angry as me over a kkk guy being appointed.

Everyday brings dismal depressing news and the rethug congress is tightening the screws on us. Calling us crazy for wanting to address our congressional representatives and ignoring our calls, emails and faxes. There is so much anger out there. Something has got to give and I hope I am foolish in thinking this country could collapse. There will be increasing societal upheaval. All our governmental institutions are starting to get dismantled and low morale is creeping into everything. I was at the post office the other day and felt nauseous seeing chumps face. A lady next to me said she was also disgusted. When I got to the counter the post person who overheard our conversation said she was glad her back was to her picture.

Things just seem to get worst everyday.

And the one party in power will exert its muscle. Look at the speed with which they are moving -- it's as if they're double-parked somewhere.

Soft coup by the right wing, with Russian influence. Sounds crazy, I know. But it's actually occurring.

Please impress upon them the concept of what they will soon be asked to do and that they have an obligation to refuse to do the bidding of a tyrant. And for those in the National Guard, please remember the Kent State murders by NG and that they may well be ordered to do the same in a the near future and at that point, they have a moral dilemma facing them which will haunt them for the rest of our lives depending on the choice they make when that time comes.

Don't shoot at, strike with batons or otherwise molest your fellow Americans.

Of the sensible ones here in the south and it's really really wonderful to see many take a stand for us!

The scary part I didn't think of was a very close friend imposed on me that the divide in the military is very much between the combat arms and the support/intelligence

He made it sound like the average grunt was deplorable and just dying for a chance at these "libs"

I'm hoping that their officers and our intelligence community and all good loyal soldiers protect us, and furthermore that it doesn't come to that.

I am most fearful of the Supreme Court vote. We'll be stuck with that asshole for life. It feels like we're living in a nightmarish alternate reality and there's no one to awaken us.

Several of my family members and I have been discussing the decline of the US for several years. It truly feels like we are witnessing the death of our democracy with the rise of Cheeto.

Many of us have lived under Republican rule most of our lives!

You should have seen how Obama freaked the hell out of these people around here - and we're all still here!

Republicans talk big, but deliver little! That's the way the Great Ship of State was built!

This is the most serious threat the U.S. (as a democratic republic) has faced since WWII. This attack is coming from within, a soft (so far) coup with a completely different vision, and it's NOT democratic, it's autocratic. The "land of the free" has just fully embraced fascism.

I understand this has been incredibly disillusioning. We thought we were so much farther down the rode to equality and true concern for our fellow man than we have been shown to be. Yes, some truly incompetent people are heading agencies that we hold dear. Some of them have been openly hostile to the mission of those agencies. But they are not sorcerers, they are human beings and I believe they are going to find it much more difficult to navigate the bureaucracy than they ever imagined, let alone change it. We will be fine if we stick together, continue the protests, and never doubt for a second we will prevail.

But each day I feel this growing dread things are going to get bad fast with an economic collapse happening because Wall Street will go back to being reckless and and people no longer protesting but rioting. I see him announcing social security is bankrupt and the rethug congress saying,"too bad". The rethugs are bad bad bad people and they have an insane man who will sign their crazy awful bills to fulfill their any Rand wet dreams.

They want, more than anything, to get reelected. Twittler's base will be the ones who get hurt the most by an economic crash. If we stick together and control the narrative they will know who sold them out. Why do you think they haven't repealed ACA? They suddenly developed a sense of Christian compassion? No, they don't want to end up having to find a job.
