2018 could be a bloodbath with 25 democratic senators up and only 8 GOP senators. We need his vote for any attemp at majority at some point. Our goal must be to stop the GOP from getting 60 plus votes in 2018. Sounds awful but that's where we are right now.

We need every D in the house and senate we can muster. Replacing him with an R or an even farther right leaning D will not help a bit.

The chairs of the committees decide which legislation gets a vote and which never sees the light of day. The chairs are held by the majority party.

People don't seem to understand how important it is to hold the majority in Congress.

Manchin isn't taking a vote that WV Dems are going to be upset about. I doubt his Trump support is going to be a major issue for him in a WV Dem primary.

Yes he won in 2012 with 60% but he's from a state where everyone is a Democrat but everyone votes Republican.

Just saying.

Capito won every single county in 2014 to replace Jay Rockefeller and she didn't even have the Teapots behind her. Trump beat Hillary by 40%. Manchin could vote for a 1000 Jeff Sessions and he will STILL lose in 2018.

He gained nothing for sacrificing our party's values.

in the senate. He was able to overcome his KKK past and rise to prominence in the Democratic Party. To be sure, Manchin has had to defend Byrd's past Klan affiliation many times over the years. He would come off as an enormous hypocrite if he didn't give Sessions a pass.

I'm no fan of Manchin, but I have to give him a pass on his vote which would have made no difference in the outcome.
