CNN)Another high-profile Trump administration official has made statements about a terror attack that never occurred.
This time, it's Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Three times in one week, Spicer alluded to a terror attack in Atlanta by someone from overseas.
But the last high-profile terror attack in Atlanta was the Centennial Olympic Park bombing, 21 years ago. And that bombing was carried out by Eric Robert Rudolph, a radical right-wing terrorist from Florida -- not a foreign-inspired terrorist.
So what exactly did Spicer say about Atlanta?

Even more people were not killed or injured in the forgotten Atlanta massacre than the number not killed or injured in the horrific but forgotten Bowling Green massacre.

(10,659 posts)5. Sean spicer Is an ignorant liar.
The bombing at Cenntenial Olympic Park on July 27,1996 was caused by Eric Rudolph. A white anti abortionist. One woman was killed by the pipe bomb. 111 were injured. My family had left the venue 10 minutes before the blast.

Not that he was from overseas but he was leading an "invading" (in some people's minds) army.
