The Trumps are not a normal family that is close. They have an odd entanglement with each other. It's as if you need to be a psychiatrist to understand what is going on with them. Yes, they are very greedy people and they have a sense of entitlement, but it's something beyond that - a strange detachment from reality.

Ivanka is smart and she and Jarred have something to lose that they made on their own. They really need to get the hell out before they lose everything.

Take the Trumps. Frank Trump had a big name so when Donny came along, he didn't have to prove anything, he just had to say he was Frank's son.

Now he has a new job and the name Trump is more of a liability than an asset and he and his kids have to prove they are worth the money and adulation but they don't know how to go about getting it because they never had to work at it, prove themselves.

Trump's ego is too damaged to figure out what he has to do and since he's never done it before, he doesn't know how.
