The difference between Hitler and Twitler,

has to do with intelligence. Hitler appeared to have had an Average, or possibly High Average, IQ, in the beginning of his reign of terror. He deteriorated into a babbling idiot toward the end, which, thankfully, helped the Allies to defeat him. Twitler has started out at the babbling idiot stage, and the only question is how low can this buffoon go. He is so transparently demented and unhinged that I doubt he will be able to cause much damage before he is removed from office, by the Repukes.

it's about the interests that are aligned with him.

our topical entertainment industry (that calls itself "news&quot found a ratings bonanza in donnie, so they hyped him, contrary to all reason and patriotism and any sense of responsibility.

the usual republican coalition quickly got over some feeble initial reluctance because they saw him as their ticket to power (even if they thought he was a losing ticket, he was their only ticket this cycle).

his idiocy and incompetence doesn't necessarily work against him as it helps create worry and fear, which is something he can capitalize on.

what stops dictators is strong institutional opposition, and most of our institutions are broken in this regard.
