Adelson is willing to pay 400 million to oust Obama. Would his tax bill be that high?

or would the combined tax bills of the "Billionaire Boyz Club" be as much as they are willing to bribe republicans with?

It amazes me how they whine & boo-hoo-hoo over their need for tax relief, and yet they throw wads of cash (the country really needs) at every sleazy republican they see.

Election cycles are no longer "every 4 years" , with minor ones every year locally. We have a Rube Goldberg Perpetual Election Machine going full throttle 24/7 year-round, and the republican electioneering beast must be fed non-stop. Local/state races are now beneficiaries of the **BBC because every lowly republican elected to small offices all over, may some day be elevated to a pivotal judgeship, congressional seat , senate, or even presidency.

There is always enough money for bribes, but never enough money for taxes.

If the issue is money, then it's odd to spend more than you would lose if the other side wins. Which leads me to believe it's not entirely about the money. I think it's more about power and influence for its own sake.

People like Adelson want to be players. And they are willing to pay top dollar to attain that status.

What DO you do after 40?

such as Federal legalization of internet gambling and casinos in every state, putting Native Americans out of the business.

Ever seen the Jack Abramson movie, "Casino Jack"? There's big money in Adelson's industry, and federal and state laws and regulators are in the way.

$40 billion in return for a mere $400 million outlay would be a great rate of return.

It isn't about saving on taxes.

It could be about kickbacks and under-the-table deals, ordinary influence-buying. That's a pretty good guess.

It could be about influence from very influential foreign sources too. That is quite likely.

He has interests in casinos in Macau (currently under investigation)...$400 million out to bring several billion back in tax free? Add that to busting the Vegas unions and throwing unlimited money at his Likudnik buddies in Israel and I'm sure Adelson thinks his money is going to good use. Here's hoping he comes up with nothing...and then tax reform is passed that hikes his taxes to 35% with no loopholes. I can dream...

"you have to spend money to make money." Sheldon Adelson, the Koch Bros, Karl Rove, and others are simply making it rain now so they can pay less later under a President Romney.
