Spicer: "You're equating me addressing the nation here -- and a tweet?"

Seeing journalists on Twitter reacting to this, wondering if Spicer is now on thinner ice than ever with Trump after a question that seems to disparage the importance of Trump's tweets in comparison to what Spicer says at the briefing.

Here's a tweet with video of that exchange:

And a tweet from a Washington Post correspondent commenting on a remark by the Boston Globe's deputy Washington bureau chief:

If Spicer wasn’t on thin ice before…

I think Sean Spicer just said that what he says from the press briefing podium is more important than what President Trump himself tweets.

Trumps tweets should not be taken seriously

The spox explanations and response to questions are more pertinent

I think the over arching point is people are sick of DTs tweets. I bet his staff especially is unnerved by them, having to deal with the fallout and ridicule

I was over there dueling on the National Review comments board on Goldberg's latest piece stating that conservatives cannot excuse Trump's behavior.

I have to wonder if any proclamation by Trump will generate a response from those folks. He is like a dream come true to this point on actions though for them. I think they are more than willing to see Trump "wet his beak" so long as he delivers the goods. Hypocrisy or consistency does not matter to them. Even body bags won't matter because it can all be blamed on Obama.

Every.Single.Time, this is what needs to be done when Spicer tries to cut off a reporter to go to another reporter. In this instance, the woman said, "That's ok...let him keep speaking" when she was called on by Spicer after he tried cutting off the guy who was trying to ask his question. All reporters need to do that each and every single time!!!!
