Don't mind thousands of poor and middle class kids dying to make him look tough.

The man has never in his 70 year life ever did one damn thing for this country.

He will send others to their death though, no problem!

President Trump has sacrificed nothing and no one. But he's prepared to go full Farquaad now: Some of you may die for this ill-advised bit of military adventurism, but it's a chance I'm willing to take.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said on Thursday he needs several thousand more international troops in order to break a stalemate in the long war with Taliban insurgents, signaling the matter may soon be put before President Donald Trump.
...
Army General John Nicholson, who leads U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan, acknowledged Taliban gains over the past year, when deployed U.S. forces were reduced even as security deteriorated.

Nicholson said he still had enough U.S. troops to carry out counterterrorism missions against al Qaeda and other militant targets, but not enough to properly advise Afghan forces on the ground.
..

Nicholson noted that Trump's defense secretary, Jim Mattis, would soon speak with allies and suggested Mattis might visit Afghanistan in the coming weeks.
That could help Mattis prepare his own recommendation to Trump, who has sharply criticized past U.S. administrations for their handling of conflicts in the Muslim world but has also pledged to eradicate militant Islamists around the globe.

Obama Says 9,800 Troops Will Stay in Afghanistan Through 2016
The President’s reversal reflects an increasingly troubling reality: 14 years after they were displaced by the U.S.-led invasion of the country, Taliban insurgents are staging a violent comeback. Meanwhile, against the backdrop of a much-reduced foreign troop cover — the current U.S. presence, for example, is down from a high of over 100,000 in 2011 — there is little sign that Afghan forces are strong enough to defend the country from the insurgency.

The fall of Kunduz in late September underscored the challenge. The northern Afghan city was the Taliban’s last stronghold in 2001. Its security had been under question since earlier this year, when the insurgents began attacking the city. But despite months of warnings, the Taliban reclaimed Kunduz on Sept. 28 — the day before the national unity government of the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani marked its first anniversary in office.

The insurgents were eventually driven out the city, after Afghan forces, backed up by the U.S. military, launched a massive counteroffensive. But the fall of Kunduz highlighted the potency of the Taliban under it’s new leader, Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansour, who took over after the confirmation of the death of longtime Taliban chief Mullah Omar in July. It also sharpened concerns about the state of Afghan forces, and the ability of the Afghan government to maintain its hold on the country.

Putin Looms And Trump Withdraws, Estonia Is Training Civilians To Fight

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/putin-trump-estonia_us_5897905de4b09bd304bbd1dd?

Civilians are volunteering in droves to fight Russia’s little green men, should they cross the border.

NARVA, Estonia ― On weekdays, Marju Prosin is a dental saleswoman. But this weekend, the 37-year-old left her two children at home, pulled on snow fatigues, grabbed a rifle and headed to the frozen forests of Estonia to train for a guerrilla war.

She is one of 25,000 members of the Estonian Defense League, a reserve force of paramilitary volunteers who are required to keep their rifles oiled and ready. Estonia is on NATO’s front line with Russia.

Long read - lots of history - and current and past photos....oh what a web we weave...our undocumented immigrants are NOT the problem.....

So many issues - Be well all!

Oil and Gas Pipelines,or is it the Poppy Fields. Russia has a major Heroin problem as a result of their so called intervention in Afghanistan. Another story out there was,our troops were protecting Chinese Mining operations from the War Lords.

You just know this will be one of Donnie Dipstick's Jobs program. Hunch says we will see a Draft via Executive order.

I love war, in a certain way,"...I know more about ISIS than the generals do.

"Nuclear, the power, the devastation ... very important to me."

Trump has been beating the war drums for a long time. He is itching to attack Iran.

I believe that will happen by the end of the year.

Then China?

No matter how long we stay they will collapse the minute we leave. They can't even protect Kabul.

We should probably just leave and get it over with before too many more Ameicans are killed.
