In a short interview with MSNBC's Katie Tur, Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters voiced a strong belief that Trump will be impeached.

(7,768 posts)She said she couldn't talk about what went on because it was classified, but she clearly was beyond upset.
I want to know what's in the works. Like NOW.
Nancy Pelosi also said she was calling for a hearing to investigate 'Orange Menace's' ties to Russia. Every day he is becoming more and more unhinged and delusional. it's really scaring the crap out of me.

(40,212 posts)It's just a matter of time. I think that is the real reason Trump wanders around at night in his robe impersonating Richard Nixon.

(22,308 posts)In response to a question about gridlock in Congress lasting another 4 years she said Trump won't last 4 years.
Of course that implies that she will be able to work with a President Pence, but nobody bothered addressing that.

(22,308 posts)Which is what the question was about. That is the only reason I mentioned it.

(7,432 posts)find a way for the intelligence data on Trumpy to be leaked. If the documents get buried, they'll die. The GOP will not abandon power and will NEVER disempower Trumpy, at least not for 14-16 months of this torture.
So Maxine. (I know you're out there, Maxine.) Work on a plan. A lot of people in Congress know what's in those docs. Where there's a will, there's a way.

She could very well release what she knows and face the consequences in the name of the greater good for us all but she refuses.
Why?
Prison?

Truly sick that you call Maxine Waters a coward. Easy to do behind a keyboard. That is a slander on progressives that should not stand. It's sick.
I'll be willing to bet that you weren't alive when Nixon was impeached.
This is MUCH bigger than Watergate, and the corruption is significantly more pervasive. There's a reason people often compare corruption to cancer: By rushing the diagnosis, potentially deadly growths are missed, and the patient dies. But if you take your time, and treat the patient using best practices, you can limit the damage and improve the patient's chances.
In other words, if this investigation is done correctly, everyone involved will be removed from positions of power.
Which would mean no more Bannon OR Pence OR McConnell, either.
For me, that's worth the wait.
And I was 18 when he was impeached.
This country is in code red right now.
Excuse me for not having patience.

Becoming one is much less convenient than calling people cowards. And much more viscerally satisfying... yet does absolutely nothing to move the struggle forward.
(space provided free of charge below to rationalize cowering on a message board being much more righteous, effective and heroic than Waters' current activities...)
What she is doing is more honorable.
Besides, we don't need her ruined and drummed out of Congress. We need every Democrat, every woman and every POC that we have. We could use a few more, too!

Have you noticed it's the women in our party, for the most part, who aren't afraid to speak their minds. They're a tough lot and I love 'em
Personally I wish we had at least 60 woman Senators and 235 woman Representatives. I trust women where I'm skeptical of man
Just think where we'd be with Hillary in the white house. Damn sure wouldn't be doing what the dickhead we have in there now is doing. I trust Hillary

She really isn't mine. Technically, that is. She represents another district. But only geographically. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting her when a Hillary headquarters opened a few miles from me last year. She was a featured guest. I got to shake that lady's hand and tell her to her face how awesome I think she is. She represents me beautifully, in every way and on every issue I can think of. Especially in THIS case!
I freakin' LOVE that woman!

A) Impeachment
B) Congress invokes section 4 of the 25th Amendment
C) Someone takes matters into his own hands
D) Fate (he's 70, overweight, doesn't exercise, doesn't get enough sleep and loves to eat junk food)
