they were able to offer for this order. If they win then it would basically mean the president can actively change/ignore law at will based on no sound reason, but his fear for national security no matter how unfounded his fear is at its base.

I think what he's doing is stirring up fear as an excuse to assume as much power for himself as possible. If he was serious about national security, he'd have included Saudi Arabia in the ban and argued that that's where the 9/11 hijackers and Osama bin Laden came from, and the home of the extremist Wahhabi sect. Instead he banned people from countries whose immigrants and refugees have never committed an act of terrorism in the US. He was trying to get around claims that he was banning all Muslims while at the same time protecting his business interests in Saudi Arabia - which is all he really cares about.

The stupidity really burns with this one.
