I'm wondering if they are government lawyers that have worked for other presidents or are they Trump's personal lawyers?
If they are Trump lawyers they know who they are dealing with but probably have little experience with government matters.
If they are gov lawyers I can't imagine them working as hard as usual on an insane case that they know stems from ignorance, bigotry and paranoia instead of a sober consideration of security risks.

(2,037 posts)There's David Friedman of course, who it's said has helped Trump out of a number of sticky situations stemming from his notoriously unethical business practices, and who's now the (extremist) Ambassador to Israel.
He has another one of his personal attorneys, Mike Cohen, apparently going around harassing journalists.
Then you also have Don McGahn, an elections lawyer known for his vote-suppression efforts, as his White House Counsel.
Those three are probably the best-known; but I'm sure there's a small army of them both in his personal orbit as well as in the White House - and some no doubt hop from one orbit to the other far more gingerly than conflict-of-interest laws allow for a president (this is Trump we're talking about after all).

(9,314 posts)I had heard Trump had chosen Morgan, Lewis as his Washington attorney but had seen nothing to that effect since the news broke. So I just checked it out and found the very informational article linked above and quoted below. Please note in particular that last paragraph in this post.
President-elect Donald Trump held his first press conference in six months this morning, and Trumps attorney, Sheri Dillon, spoke for several minutes about his business.
Dillon said that Trump will be handing over control of his organization to his adult children. However, he will not be putting the organization into a blind trust, and Dillon said doing so would not be feasible.
The conflicts of interests laws simply do not apply to the president or the vice president, Dillon added.
Earlier in this article, I found a very interesting paragraph:
In May 2016, this law firm was named Russia Law Firm of the Year by Chambers & Partners. Morgan Lewis has an office in Moscow.
