Media participation in WH press conferences

I can't bring myself to write, presser. Stupid word.

Ok, Jim Acosta of CNN said that the die is cast. 45 is calling only on right wing outlets.

Probably true.

What now?

What does the MSM do? Show up and be ignored? "Beg" to be recognized?

Or stop showing up. Let the press pool coverage suffice and then go and cultivate more and more and better and better sources at the WH and report the inside scoop, not the shit that 45 and Spicer and Conway (for now) shovel as gospel.

After all, the press conferences are fully controlled and for the most part staged, with reporters acting as stenographers. I mean, really, apart from trying to goad whoever's up front into saying something stupid, what good are they? So, stop showing up. But keep reporting, and reporting, and reporting.

It's a new world out there. In addition to good old-fashioned journalism - the next Woodward & Bernstein are out there now - some of this new shit requires a new response.

independent media. Today, 6 large corporations control 90% of the media and profit is the main goal, not journalism.

But I hope you are correct. The photos of the press area at the golf course, where the press was secluded in a room with covered windows was bad enough. Worse was that the so-called media watchdogs allowed themselves to be treated like captives.

to treat this like they would any other dictatorship. Ignore official handouts, develop sources, and if those sources dry up, develop other sources.

It's the only way to report on actual news now.

Having all the press / media outlets there give him a chance to get in his version of the truth. If he ignores MSM then MSM will get and publish info based on leaks (which are plentiful). Trump actually loses even more control.
