Day Without Immigrants Protest is Tomorrow.

Please support in any way you can. The article is about DC, but the protest is nationwide.

From the NYT's:

WASHINGTON — In a city where expense account meals are a central part of power players’ lives, some of Washington’s best-known restaurants will close their doors on Thursday in solidarity with a national campaign to draw attention to the power and plight of immigrants.

The campaign, spread on social media and messaging apps, has called for a “day without immigrants.” It asks foreign-born people nationwide, regardless of legal status, not to go to work or go shopping in a demonstration of the importance of their labor and consumer spending to the United States’ economy.

Not to mention those who are "illegal" don't want to call attention to themselves.

We've had several ICE sweeps here in my city. People are frightened,

....and I'm not sure how best to support but had to put the word out there.

It's true if you walk through any large city, it's so clear none of them could run or be built or maintained on a daily basis without immigrants.

The tech companies employ many many 1st through 2.5th generation immigrants

And they can afford it

Think about the impact of a day without social media or a day without Internet

Now that would be a protest
