Was yesterday the first time in history a president was (contemporaneously) caught lying at a press conference as Drumpf was when he lied about the size of his Electoral College win?

Presidents have lied before but I can not remember an instance where a president was (contemporaneously) checked.

He claimed to have the greatest margin since Reagan, then said he meant by a Republican, then said 'Well it was a really big win right?' after being slapped down twice. And you know what? It was one of the smallest in history. It ranks 46th out of 56 and it was the smallest by any recent President except for Shrub's tiny wins in 2000 and 2004.

His popular vote margin of -2.1% was third worst, but his 2.8 million vote deficit was easily the biggest in history, topping GWB by 2 million.
