Scott Pruitt begins his destruction of EPA

Think Progress - 2.19.2017

Scott Pruitt makes it clear that the Clean Power Plan is going away.
In his first interview as EPA administrator, Pruitt says he wants to refocus the agency on a more narrow role.
...the Clean Power Plan, the signature climate regulation of the Obama administration, is not long for this world.

“There will be a rule-making process to withdraw those rules, and that will kick off a process,” Pruitt told the Wall Street Journal. “And part of that process is a very careful review of a fundamental question: Does EPA even possess the tools, under the Clean Air Act, to address this? It’s a fair question to ask if we do, or whether there in fact needs to be a congressional response to the climate issue.”

In 2007, the Supreme Court ruled in Massachusetts vs. EPA that the EPA does, in fact, possess the authority under the Clean Air Act to regulate greenhouse gases as air pollutants. That decision helped pave the way for the Clean Power Plan...

Pruitt also said that, as EPA administrator, he would focus on creating regulatory certainty that will help industry and spur job growth. Pruitt has long been a friend of the fossil fuel industry...

Meanwhile, in one of his first tweets as EPA administrator, Pruitt pledged to working with important stakeholders — like industry — in his new role.

It is clear his priority is to rape and blunder.
I continue to believe we need treatment centers for those with power and greed disorders. Part of their treatment is a process of learning that the earth is a living being and the responsibility of humans is that of stewards of the Earth. It would be a very loooooong treatment stay.

There is only one conclusion for people (especially those in power) like this: They are sick. Their illness is to the devastation and detriment to all life. For me, this is the worst aspect of GOP and trumpian power. They are killing the entire planet.

How could anyone be so evil as to want to dismantle these programs? I simply can't get my mind around it.

Experts blamed it on pollution in the air, Back then it was a everyday sight to see NYC like you have pictured above.

Those two photographs were taken with two completely different filters. The one at the top was taken with a heavy red filter which wipes out all of the other colors. No one is fooled.

Not surprising. Is it really that hard to come up with a legitimate photograph to make the point?

Just like DeVos is going to destroy the Dept of Education. That is the one and only reason Dump placed them there.

The barbarians are inside the gates now. They are in charge of the government and we and our children are going to pay a heavy price for it.

Soon we will all be gulping down Flint MI water and no one will be informing us about it because Trump and the republican party will probably make it illegal to do so.

They have already allowed coal mines to dump waste directly into streams and that's just for starters folks.

There are huge issues with this. For example, if my river is polluted because we don't care, that same river runs into your lovely state. It's all the same air, food, animals, etc. What one does, affects another, hence the empirical need for a well run federal FDA.
