... Instead of a fine-tuned machine, however, the opening weeks of the Trump administration have revealed a White House thats chaotic, disorganized and anything but efficient. Examples include rushed and poorly constructed executive orders, a dysfunctional national security team, and unclear and even contradictory messages emanating from multiple administrative spokesmen, which frequently clash with the tweets of the president himself.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) succinctly summed up the growing sentiment even some Republicans are feeling: Nobody knows whos in charge ...
... for one thing, Trump wasnt a genuine CEO. That is, he didnt run a major public corporation with shareholders and a board of directors that could hold him to account. Instead, he was the head of a family-owned, private web of enterprises ...
Public corporations are companies that offer their stock to pretty much anyone via organized exchanges or by some over-the-counter mechanism. To protect investors, the government created the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which imposes an obligation of transparency on public corporations that does not apply to private businesses like the Trump Organization ...

(60,010 posts)and the problem with the casinos was that he micro-managed, and ordered every brain fart to be carried out, even if it made no sense at all in casino world and/or sane world.
Just like the Presidency, he figured he was smart enough to know everything, without being told, and screwed it up royally, then blamed the disaster on everyone else.
I am truly surprised he has not been killed by the mob.

(20,013 posts)I heard Rick Stengel make this point on The Last Word last week and thought it explained a lot. Drumpf was basically czar of a family business who could do whatever he wanted and didn't have to answer to anybody. I suspect he did a lot of lying and cheating and possibly even used some mob tactics to get what he wanted in the sometimes shady world of business and nobody held him accountable. Now he's in the public sphere constantly lying like always only now everything he says and does is being scrutinized. He can't function like that.

(5,502 posts)His presidency is a mess because he is a mess. He is not a problem solver. My guess is when his businesses run into problems, he either throws money at it, sues someone or files bankruptcy. Other than that, he builds big buildings and rents out space in them. Or builds luxury hotels in big cities. Once you get the capital, executing on these things is not rocket science.
One last point, because we've never seen his financials, we don't even know if he is good at what he does. My guess is the debt is sky high. He's just gotten good at keeping it moving around.

But all they cared about was ratings so they had to manufacture that bullshit "horse race"
