When the ACA was made law in this country, I can't count how many times I saw Republican senators and Congressman on tv demonizing the ACA. They had so many negative things to say about it. Now here they are facing their angry and scared constituents in town halls about their desire to keep their Obamacare. Now, these politicians can't face the music and all they can say is its fake and people from the left are being paid to do this. These people are Republicans and Democrats. At the end of the day, no matter what your party affiliation is people get sick and they want their healthcare. The midterm elections will be very interesting.

- You can NOT buy on the marketplace unless you are employed and make ( I think) $12,000 a year.
In states that don't have Medicaid expansion, the poor and unemployed/underemployed are SOL.

Will the town halls, marches, and protests get the airtime they deserve, or will the republican lie that these are all "paid protestors" prevail?

(31,879 posts)I showed them my driver's license. I also let them know in no uncertain terms - I was not paid to organize and I did not pay anyone one thin red cent to be there. I also advised that we really pushed to our allies in other districts to NOT sign up for the Town Hall- to ensure every resident voter in the district had a chance at a seat or in the over flow room.

(129,440 posts)They gave anti-ACA ALL the airtime. And they delighted in featuring the Koch-funded "teaparty" (teabaggers) protestors with Gadsen flags and misspelled signs.

(50,303 posts)Medicare get. People - including Republicans - are seeing lives improved and saved as a result of the ACA. The notion of just tossing it all out is ridiculous since all it needs is some tweaking. I hope we end up at the ballot box. It's the only way to get rid of the hatemongers.
