(5,611 posts)and clearly Warren was given the Best Actress envelope. Warren knew it too, to his credit. Faye actually created a worse blunder by yelling "LaLaLand" when it said "EMMA STONE" on top of the film name since it was the wrong card. Warren was looking offstage for help as he KNEW it was the wrong card.

(24,056 posts)That must be a first.
Is Kimmel just being gracious saying that he takes responsibility? How would that be his fault?
Too bad we can't correct the POTUS election results that easily.

In this case, it looks like a genuine mistake. But, they are supposed to be the world's best actors.

(81,882 posts)He announced it. La La Land started the speeches. A couple minutes later, guys are coming from off the stage checking the envelope and with a new one.
Someone then came from off the stage with the correct envelope. Crazy

(5,611 posts)looking offstage for help as he clearly recognized that the card was for Best Actress (Emma had one with her, and one was incorrectly given to Warren as they keep one on either side of the stage).

(53,075 posts)It was the slip for Emma Stone, La La Land. Turned out not to Bonnie and Clyde's fault.
The truth is that as soon as they saw Emma Stone and best actress on it, they should have stopped and sorted it out.
All they had to do was show the audience the paper and get the correct envelope. It would have been a gaffe but it would not have been as bad as this fugg up.

(31,408 posts)I thought La La Land was totally overrated (unlike Meryl who is a National Treasure).
