The more I think about it, the less I am able to identify his administration and followers any other way. He is a cult leader. He is brainwashing his followers with lies.

(4,402 posts)By way of comparison, Mao Zedong had 50 million followers, held power for 31 years, was taught as an ideal man in Chinese classrooms for decades, had giant banners hanging from buildings everywhere and is still the only Chinese political figure that appears on the currency - every denomination.
If Trump had his way, that's where we would end up. But I don't think you can call his cult "the most successful in history".

(6,407 posts)His groupies function very much like a cult, one formed around a delusional, compelling, and narcissistic leader.
They are essentially sucked into his alternatively grandiose and paranoid delusional system and nothing, short of radical deprogramming, can dissuade them.
Ana Navarro said it best a few weeks back: Everyone thinks (Trump) is nuts, or that he is the Messiah.

They have been brainwashed by Fox and right wing radio. They are so robotic when you ask them a question. And when you ask them for proof they get all angry and defensive.
