Someone Is Sabotaging the Trump Presidency

It's true. Every time Trump does something that seems to be sensible, something happens to reverse the media coverage of that. There is a subtle saboteur inside the Trump administration. That saboteur is....
.
.
.
Donald J. Trump - Saboteur-in-Chief

The President should force that asshole to resign before he does something that leads to an impeachment and removal in Congress.

and surprises the entire world, including his entire staff, by announcing a silly far-right conspiracy radio lie as truth. He has no idea these things are strictly for the pleasure of wingnuts. I was sitting on the porch overlooking our isolated Florida marsh Saturday morning while I checked his email every half hour or so for more "subtleties" of executive functioning.

As for awful things happening, we're in trouble all right. All the major right-wing factions currently struggling for power in the executive and legislative branches mean to make those happen, but 45 is unique in not actually realizing what he's up to.

Very hard. George W. Bush started a war. He wasn't stopped.

I keep seeing people saying things like you just said. "He needs to be stopped." But nobody seems to be able to come up with a way to do that. And there really isn't one, in fact. He could be impeached and removed from office, but America, in its dubious wisdom, has elected majorities in both houses of Congress. So, that's not going to happen.

It's easy to say, "He needs to be stopped," but unless you have some idea how that might happen, it's also of no use to say that.

He could have been stopped in November, but we didn't do a good enough job of getting out the vote. We lost three crucial states by very, very narrow margins. So, Trump is in the White House.

It's hard to stop a President.

Unless he gets impeached or removed by the 25th amendment we are are totally screwed. Or what if the miltary refuses to take one of his insane orders and overthrows him in a coup? We never have had a verifiable insane man in the White House.

Remember that the military swears to uphold the Constititution, and most military leaders appear to be pretty sincere about that. They try hard to stay away from politics, for the most part.

If a military coup ever occurs here, that's the end of our system of government, forever.

Is getting more divided? And even though our miltary adheres to the constitution if chump orders a nuke as retaliation for someone going after his properties will follow his orders?

Everyday I feel we are closer to a constitutional crisis. And things might not end well.

So far, though, it's holding its ground pretty well. Trump got thwarted by a federal court on his first immigrant ban. We'll see whether his new version passes muster. I'm not smart enough in a legal sense to predict that.

As for his using of nuclear weapons, I doubt very, very much that he would attempt that. If he did try, I feel quite certain it would lead to his impeachment and removal by even a Republican Congress. I don't think he'll do that, though.

Are we close to a constitutional crisis? Closer than usual, I think. But our constitution is always being challenged. So far, the courts have kept government fairly well in check, though, although they slip up, too. The Japanese internment during WWII is a very good example of how even the SCOTUS can ignore the Constitution in some cases.

What I believe is the most likely thing is that Trump will be rebuffed in enough ways that he will resign. He's a fragile little man who can't stand being thwarted. At some point, he's going to say goodbye, one way or another.

We will have an opportunity in 2018 to remove Republican control from Congress. I suggest we work very hard to do exactly that. If we do not, then we will not have another chance for a very long time, perhaps.

I don't think he actually wanted the gig but he loves the attention and he reveled in the rallies. Now he actually sees what is involved in the position and hates it. He hates being away from his golden palace. I think all the travel is taking a toll even though he gets to go to Florida so often. He had no clue about how intense the stress would be.

I don't think physically the "healthiest president ever' can take much more of this...he is not used to working full days (or at least pretending work), his bubble of adoration has never been attacked so much (he could at least retreat to Trump Tower back in the old days), his diet is disgusting and he has to be under constant stress - stress of his own making.

Other presidents have aged in dramatically in the WH due to the stress of actually being president - dealing with crises both domestic and international. They have all been able to surround themselves with a team of political insiders who have experience in government. So in the past, at least the federal agencies kept running along fine during transitions. This idiot is surrounded by inexperienced idiots who think they can run the country like a corp, and instead has gotten rid of so many key career people who have served under both political parties that if a serious crisis were to hit the US (other than the crisis of 45 himself) there is no longer infrastructure in place to deal with things.

Add that to the paranoia he naturally has that is being fed daily by Bannon, I don't think he physically can handle the strain.

I don't think there is. They seem to be 100% OK with this orange assface as long as he's carrying their ball. If he balks them on Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid, yeah, then they might (might?) turn on him. But I think it'd take him shafting the party on one or more of their desired prizes, plus irrefutable evidence of him breaking election laws by colluding with Russia, before they'd do anything and they will do everything in their power to hide the pertinent information. He's their Fuhrer and they are still saluting, Zieg Heil, daily.
