Nobody knows anything about the ACA. The WH never did a good job of changing that.
And the effects are not fully felt.
So the thing is really brand new, as policy.
Unlike the Jobs bill or other fantasy legislation, the ACA has already passed. It is real policy.
So, politically, forget that the thing passed years ago. Treat it as a brand new and coming thing and educate the public about it.
Obama should make it a standard feature of his appearances to have a segment of asking people about their healthcare situation and telling them exactly how their circumstances will or will not change, just like back when the ACA was being debated.
Despite having been pre-defined by the right wing, the ACA is a more hopeful and helpful thing than saying the economy could be worse. I would rather be arguing about the ACA than about job creation because job creation is a he-said, he-said issue.

(2,307 posts)We know there are tea bagger, right wing FOX watching conservatives who can't be swayed and who really don't care as long as they personally have health care.
But, there are many who have been mislead, who if they were simply educated would support the plan.

(10,960 posts)A lot of the problem has been that implementation was so far in the future that it was easier to hate than to love.
But in 2012 politics, Obama is in a position to deliver on the effects of the ACA very quickly.
