Major hospital group (5,000 hospitals) announces its opposition to Trumpcare.

Talking Points Memo:

A major hospital group that represents nearly 5,000 hospitals came out against the Republican Obamacare repeal legislation introduced this week. Richard Pollack, CEO and president of the American Hospital Association, sent a letter Tuesday to members of Congress raising concerns about the the bill's overhaul of Medicaid and other proposals included in the legislation, called the The American Health Care Act.

"We look forward to continuing to work with the Congress and the Administration on ACA reform, but we cannot support The American Health Care Act in its current form," Pollack said.

He also warned against moving forward with the bill, which will be marked up Wednesday, before the Congressional Budget Office has returned its score.

"Any ability to evaluate The American Health Care Act, however, is severely hampered by the lack of coverage estimates by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Lacking that level of analysis and needed transparency, we urge that Congress should. wait until an estimate is available before proceeding with formal consideration," Pollack said.

I would hope that this would stop what they're doing.

The health insurance companies will love it. The actual health service providers don't...

Enriching middle men and rent seeking is the GOP version of capitalism period.

with public meaning state and local government owned hospitals. And that number jumps up to almost 85% when it's based on total hospital beds i.e. capacity. (The large academic/teaching hospitals, where the number of beds can exceed 1,000, are all nonprofits or public AFAIK.)

If you were to add in federal hospitals such as the VA, the 'corporate' share overall would be even less.

Cheaper for everyone....not so much.

The truth is that for profit healthcare is just morally wrong. We are trying to stay well and alive, they are trying to enrich executives who offer zilch in healthcare delivery. It is wrong for people, and most physicians. It is uniquely American and an abomination.

But Fox trains it's suckers well....say how it is better in Canada or wherever and Fox zombies will counter with the lie that you will wait a long time for care. Of course the truth is you may wait a bit longer for cosmetic surgery, if you need open heart surgery you get right in.

This plan is a gift to the well off and a pain for many who are not so well off. What you would expect from republicans.
