Every time you hear either one of those in reference to that cruel and stupid health bill, your hackles should rise.
Neither of those things, without money, results in what you NEED.. which is healthCARE.

But, the problem is that they get away with it, that people are large are so simple minded and childish to thing that big problems can be fixed with a one word throw away line.

(1,751 posts)Those are just the facts of my life.
I live in a very, very conservative area. When asked how I could've voted for Obama twice I just reply that in my life Republican lies have been worse for me than Democrat lies.
I then, if pressed, use facts like union breakups, rising deficit, less choice and access to basic necessities, the wars that have been started and the complete financial meltdown. There is plenty of ammunition.
They still look at me like I'm crazy.

(49,013 posts)Chaffetz said poor people need to choose between "iPhone or health care".
Democrats, liberals and progressives say that both are pretty much a necessity and that government should ensure basic health care for all in a civilized country. A phone / pocket computer is a necessity of modern life, especially working life and for people who have friends and family (i.e. 99.99% of us).
These days with the internet it is either a home computer & land line combination or a pocket computer with a phone app. Either way, all-in costs are comparable. If you can only afford one combo, most people will opt for the pocket computer.
