the GOP, if you watch Fox News, you are supporting your own death or at a minimum your own bankruptcy.

That they would show such a stat is one thing, that millions of idiots who are 5 or 6 paychecks from homelessness are nodding in agreement about how spoiled we are, THAT is the remarkable thing.

be proud of, sort of, not exactly extremely, but I'm not kidding either. Most poor kids may not have optimal nutrition, yet they're growing up mostly strong and healthy, ready to take on life, anyway.

Do the schmucks this stuff appeals to really think poverty should be living under shrubs on highway right-of-ways? Sheltering their children in cardboard boxes? Those children too weak from rickets and pellagra to attend school?

And what would they do about it then? Or, I should of course ask, what are they doing about it now?

They think poor people in America should be on a par with the impoverished refugees in someplace like Somalia. Even under Section 8 housing requirements there are minimum living conditions for poor folks.

Q: What type of criteria is the housing required to meet?

A: The housing must be decent, safe and sanitary while also meeting the Housing Quality Standards. These standards include having all of the following:

An alternative exit in case of fire
A cooking stove or range
A kitchen sink with hot and cold running water
A refrigerator that is of appropriate size for the unit
Space for storage, food preparation and serving
Facilities and services for food waste disposal
At least one window in living and sleeping rooms
A working light fixture in the bathroom and kitchen
At minimum of two electric outlets in the kitchen, living room and each bedroom
Adequate air circulation
Free from dangerous levels of sewer gas, carbon monoxide, dust, fuel gas and other harmful air pollutants
A flush toilet
A fixed tub or shower with hot and cold running water
A fixed basin with hot and cold running water
A kitchen, living room, bathroom and at least one bedroom or a living-sleeping room
Screens on all exterior doors and windows that are accessible from the outside
No serious defects, such as large holes, bulging or loose surface materials, on floors, ceilings and walls
A firm and weather tight roof

Only the truly homeless would meet the low bar Republicans set for people they deem unworthy of even the most basic necessities.

Fantastic options there.

I wonder how many keep all of their uncanned food in the fridge to keep roaches or rats out of it because they live in slums?

in order to rent the place. What matters is what's in the refrigerator, especially at the end of the month.

Only a Republican could fall for any of this shit.
