Cantor: Health care repeal vote coming July 11

(CBS News) The Supreme Court gave some validation to the Affordable Care Act on Thursday when it declared the law constitutional, but House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is ready to move forward with yet another House vote to repeal the controversial law.

"We know that most of the American people don't like this law," Cantor said on CBS' This Morning Friday. The House, he said will "look towards the kind of health care people want," which he said is "patient-centered."

Cantor said that the Republican-led House will take up a repeal vote on July 11th, after Congress comes back from its July 4th recess. The House first voted to repeal the law in January 2011, soon after Republicans took control. The move, however, was essentially symbolic.

The Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell also said Thursday that Congress should repeal the law, but Democrats have control of the Senate.

it still faces a veto, and there's no way to override it again by 2/3'rds as required by U.S. Constitution.

Does the Republicans want to show their asses so it can wipe the Constitution and go lawless? Not the place - I suggest moving to Somalia.

Didn't they already repeal it when the rushpublicans took control last year? Another waste of time "dog & pony" vote to throw some red meat at the great unhinged and attempt to save face. I saw little Eric trying to claim some kind of victory here...so here's yet another worthless vote that won't repeal the AHCA or do anything. Fine...I hope these shitstains go on record again about how they care little about the health and welfare of 30,000,000 people and are wasting time and taxpayer money.

We can run against Republicans for trying to put insurance companies back in the drivers seat, after all their nominee believes that Corporations are people.

It's what they always say when they run for election, isn't it? They wouldn't possibly waste so much time on useless political posturing, would they?

Democrats and President Obama should publically demand a vote on President Obama's jobs bill be held instead. It would create one helluva contrast for the public.
