O' what a tangled web they have woven.

An "unregistered" foreign agent sitting by the President's side as the National Security Adviser, with access to all the intelligence that our country possesses, who is later "fired" or resigned because he didn't inform the VP that he was having discussions with the Russians.

The desperation of a Republican Congress that attempts to ram through a healthcare bill to replace "Obamacare", which did not even take the time to take a headcount of their own Party, because they need to move on to more important issues, like taxcuts for the wealthy.

The smile on the face of the President when he was informed that Wikileaks had released a huge, damaging pile of CIA cyber secrets, as if he was pleasantly pleased with the shocking news, even as the FBI huddled with the Gang of Eight to try and figure out their next move.

Meanwhile, the State Department is in shambles. No one knows what is going on, except that there are many vacant positions, and we do not have the ability to practice diplomacy or to talk with other nations about important issues around the world.

Meanwhile, the psychopathic liar has the Republican Party eating out of his hand as if they were a little puppy just rescued from the pound, and he re-assures them with "who are you going to believe - me or your lying eyes?"

They are like a snake coming out of winter hibernation, with its eyes skimmed over with an opaque layer of skin, and unable to see anything clearly.

the legal framework of our nation. They've already taken a number of quiet knives to Medicare, and the same for many other programs they know large majorities of Americans want protected.

Then, of course, there are their passage of various laws limiting our rights and various dismantlings of laws defining and protecting our rights.

The focus on all the very real crimes involving this election and on the disarray in the executive branch is providing very good cover for the eager slaughter going on in the legislative branch.

Back in the '70s not-yet-Justice Lewis Powell drafted an extremely influential secret memorandum for shifting much of the power of, by and for the people to of, by and for business interests, which of course are really just wealthy people.

In that same era, a number of ultrawealthy families invested, through supposed charitable institutions set up for the purpose, in shifting American culture strongly to the right. Of the giant fortunes invested, relatively little of it has gone to loading government with strong conservatives--the part we tend to notice.

These efforts continued and increased, with a major kick in the butt with Obama's election, right through today, and we're seeing their possible payoff now.

Possible. They're out of the shadows, and it's shootout in the streets time now.

Obama did a few things over EIGHT years that I did not really like, but even NONE of that came very close to this mess.

I keep waiting for a grown up to step in and say something. I am 52 years old. I should not be thinking that thought!

plots of geopolitical ambitions, money laundering to facilitate those plans and enrich those involved, and at best criminal activities, or worse espionage. The keys to them all will be found in an independent investigation of the Trump organization and its five hundred 'companies'. Until that is done we will all be still trying to connect the dots. Following the slime left by the money trail has to be done.

...moving aggressively towards our allies. You left that one out. And that is but one of the Russian military moves, that we know of, underway by the Kremlin. Dammit, Putting wins again!

Russia Has Deployed Missile Barred by Treaty, U.S. General Tells Congress

“The system itself presents a risk to most of our facilities in Europe,” he added. “And we believe that the Russians have deliberately deployed it in order to pose a threat to NATO and to facilities within the NATO area of responsibility.”
