About 40% of the US Christians believe that they have the Spirit of the Holy Ghost working within them.

They do not feel bound by living like Christ, and whatever their actions, they are sanctioned by God.

Most other Christians believe people should model their lives after Christ, and try to behave like he would.


I'm taking a comparative Christian Religion course, and it is really enlightening (pardon the pun).

A relative of mine (who for reasons soon to be clear will remain anonymous) is a supporter of the pretender in the White House. He claims to have won the Congressional Medal of Honor for his "secret" military service (in the reality-based world, he was dishonorably discharged), and cheats at poker when the stakes are as low as match sticks.

So yeah. They lie in their own lives too.

The story surrounding it is preposterous. The claimed "facts" are so completely at odds with actual events as reported by other family members. I can't explain more without getting into personal details.

Edited to add... The short version of this story is, either he somehow acquired a real medal from an estate sale (unlikely at best), or else it's a fake. Perhaps a prop from a movie or something. I've never seen a real Medal of Honor anywhere but TV, so I honestly wouldn't know the difference at a glance. It was a long time ago now, more than twenty years, that I was shown his collection of medals. He's not somebody I talk to on a regular basis these days.

Basically the real story is he was given a bad conduct discharge for assault, and served time for this. In his version of events, this was all a cover for a secret mission.... okay. Right.

So even if the parental units are not habitual liars, their spawn will certainly be.

Following their "family values" role model, Republicans are raising hordes of squirmy little manipulative liars.

so, yeah, my anecdote is that this one has a lot of trouble w the concept of reality in general.

Yes, they lie just as much as Donald Trump because they repeat his lies.
