Conway speaking about the spy microwave in 45/140's gauche kitchen is the kind of thing aimed not at you, but at the morons who voted for him. They just need to give them another fiction to hold them over until the next round of Crazy. Its about holding his base together and firing them up to hate us even more than they do already.
For sure, the original Obama Spied tweet was, indeed, Crazy that started as a sort of fact in his ugly-haired head. When he got universal pushback they started these theories as their own meme. In fact, some have said the Wiki dump about CIA using Xboxes and Samsungs to spy was actually fodder for the twit machine.
The truly scary part, for me at least, is the lack of real, forceful pushback from anywhere - the media or politicians.
