Why Did Anthem's CEO Endorse The GOP's Healthcare Plan? Simple. HE WAS BRIBED.

Just in case you were wondering why the Republicans put a huge tax cut for HMO executives in their healthcare (wealthcare) bill, Anthem's CEO just endorsed the bill. Mystery solved. It was a BRIBE, pure and simple. A brazen and clever one, to be sure. But a bribe, nonetheless.

At first it seemed strange to put a special carve out tax cut for HMO executives in the healthcare bill. Why would they do that, when they're planning to give multimillionaires a tax cut anyway, by repealing Obamacare. And they're going to give them an even bigger tax cut when they reform the Tax Code. So why add a THIRD tax cut JUST for HMO executives?

It was a bribe. Pure and simple. Come out and support this bill in public, and if it passes, you'll gain from it PERSONALLY.

I guess they figure they'll gain more positive publicity from HMO executives endorsing the bill than negative publicity from people pointing out that they were BRIBED to support it. I just saw Ryan on TV using the Anthem endorsement to sell the bill. From now on, whenever they point out that HMO executives are endorsing the plan, we have to point out that it's only because they were BRIBED to endorse it.

its current form it is NOT workable

They made it clear the importance of continuing the ACA's cost-sharing subsidies, and Medicaid expansion, and the longer they keep the uncertainty in place, the more likely that they will be pulling out of the places they cover now.

No question that Anthem is concerned more for their greedy bottom line than the welfare of people, but it is incorrect to say they endorsed the Ryan plan, and in fact said it would fail if the subsidies and other suggestions were taken away.

It is also important to note that other insurers did not rush to defend ANY part of the bill, and Doctors, Nurses, Medical Professionals, and organizations including AARP, have come out very strongly against the Ryan/republican garbage

Right now in the California legislature they are introducing Single-Payer, and I really hope it passes. I would gladly pay increased taxes for it.

You will not be alone. They just put in a new CEO.

We receieved all these nice benefits from him in a notice yesterday.

Then he came out for the Republican bill.

Thats not how it works. They're excited that they can jack up premiums on older people several more times higher than they could under the ACA.
