Also pre-Trump.

And one that would probably be undone if there was another vote. Sound familiar?

We elected a corrupt, racist and mentally unstable game show host to the most powerful position in the world. Our ability to squawk at the Europeans about politics is in the penalty box for many many moons to come.

If Le Pen's rise to power is thwarted we can call it a trend and safely say that the Europeans have gazed upon the Trump shit show and have taken a cue from our mistakes. This is a good start.

He is favored to be in the run off and the last poll had him at 61 to her 39 in the second round. He is a socially liberal centrist.

6. exit poll numbers
Wed Mar 15, 2017, 04:27 PM
Mar 2017

This lists the number of seats belonging to each party according to exit polls:
- VVD: 31
- CDA: 19
- D66: 19
- PVV: 19
- GroenLinks: 16
- SP: 14
- PvdA: 9
- CU: 6
- PvdD: 5
- 50Plus: 4
- Denk: 3
- SGP: 3
- FvD: 2

VVD is current PM's party
PVV is the Wilders party

They want a coalition of at least 76 seats for an absolute majority, so something like VVD/CDA/D66/(GroenLinks or PvdA) might be the most likely option? Not an expert on Dutch politics here.

Thanks. Ever since Trump was elected, our alt right party (AfD) has been going down in polls.

Something needs to change with the EU though, so that more people actually have a reason to love it.

backers of nefarious origins (very probably another Putin puppet). I really hope that the Trumpette Marine Le Pen in France goes down next as anything that shows that the so-called Trump (bowel) "movement" has hit a wall...and not a border wall...is a good thing. People are seeing through this shit.

Wed Mar 15, 2017, 05:06 PM

They never had more than about 15-20% support. The question was whether the electorate was so divided among the 10 major Parties that they "won" by getting more seats than the others. Even then, they would never have controlled the Government, because no other Party would form a coalition with them. At most, they were "sending a message".

This is just like Western Australia that just voted out the liberal party (they are our version of conservatives) because they teamed up with One Nation (Trump nation), election went to the labor party in an upheaval... WA is the most conservative (our version of conservatives) that there is in AU. Hopefully this becomes the new global norm.
