Perrys children are involved in law enforcement with daughter Michele a commander at the St. Augustine Police Department, son Keith with the Clay County Sheriffs Office and daughter Missy with the Corrections Department of the Flagler County Sheriffs Office.
Watson told of going on a quiet patrol ride with the sheriff where they responded to a radio call for what Perry determined was a difficult traffic stop.
Watson questioned their going, and Perry answered. Im sheriff. I may be able to offer assistance. When they got to the traffic stop they found deputies, Florida Highway Patrol troopers, officers and drawn guns.
Later that night Perry took a radio call about a barking dog, and the two went to a house where a small little lady turned on the porch light, recognized the sheriff and told him: My, Sheriff Perry, you didnt have to come yourself. You could have sent a deputy.

He will be missed.

Do you still live in the area?

(431 posts)I guess Mr. Beeson's been gone about ten years now. I met him as an adult and learned what an amazing man he was. We'd occasionally have coffee at PK's and talk the morning away. I learned he used to babysit my father in law, way back when.
I digress.
Still live here, on the island.
