The crazies are organizing....

Found this posted by a "friend" on Facebook, from a page called "Freedom Works":

If you want to repeal ObamaCare please "like" and "share" this EMERGENCY ALERT: We're hosting a nationwide conference call TODAY at 3pm EST to talk about how we repeal ObamaCare. Call 877-228-2184 and enter password 18753 at 3pm EST to participate. Thank you!

I will promptly be blocking this moron from my feed, but if anyone has the stomach for it, there might be something to learn from whatever drivel they spew.

that this will only circulate amongst the "right" people. They seem to not know how Facebook works; any page that you "like" is automatically posted to all of your friends' news feeds. We used to be able to block that function, but can't with the latest FB "upgrades." That means that I've been blocking casual "friends" with a vengeance over the last few days, because I can't stand the bile.

but the calls from RW talking heads about "armed insurrection" are a bit troubling.

There are many idiots out there that might resort to violence if they feel threatened.

The RW echo chamber is a dangerous place.

As much as they want to repeal this law, that's just not going to happen. Even if R-Money were to win and the Pugs retain control of the House, we will still control the Senate. This goes nowhere.

I've had several conversations with middle-of-the-road folks in the last couple of days who seem to feel that if the SC has blessed it, it can't be all bad, and they are willing to take another look at it.

The biggest problem I see is that local news covers this at such a shallow level that people really don't learn anything about it. My local station, in the deep blue Northeast, was interviewing a "small business owner" about how "scared" he was over the implementation, and the reporter, the anchor (who happens to be a friend of mine, and whom I will be calling this weekend to bop him over the head about this) and the business owner all missed the point that his business was far too small to be affected by the requirements anyway (only four employees). The ignorance is perpetuated once again.

It will be nearly impossible to repeal it. I think it takes 75 votes to repeal something that was voted into law with a super majority.

Whether it's ACA, marriage equality, abortion or contraceptive rights, or equal pay, they've been conditioned to respond that someone else's rights or freedoms are somehow a violation and affront to their own. I'm convinced that the fundamental credos for these clowns are "as long as I've got mine, I don't give a fuck about you geting yours," then "IOKIYAR," and finally, "our way or the highway." They disgust me, every last one.

Is a mindset that is so ingrained in the staunchest supporters, that you couldn't shake it lose unless it was a Republican putting them to death for a frivolous reason. Even then, you'd have a 50/50 chance of them realizing they were supporting someone against their best interest.

Tell a Republican that Romneycare IS Obamacare? They still want to vote against Obama. 1. He's a Democrat, which in the mind of Republicans, makes him the evil liberal Rush Limbaugh and Fox News warns them about daily. 2. I don't think it is necessary to really say why he's an evil dictator that is coming to steal all of your white privilege and take revenge on you. I really don't.
