My take and question on the trump wiretap

trump was never wiretapped, I get that. He was put under surveillance because someone/or more within his transition team was.

Instead of splitting hairs between wiretap and surveillance why aren't we discussing why trump surrounded himself with those who were being watched and why were they being watched? Has this question been answered and I missed it?
I find this very troubling

...the IC caught them talking to Russians (the initial target) and colluding with them. The FBI took this info, got a FISA warrant, and then the Trump team themselves became targets of investigation - all legally.

Then the discussion should not be on the definition of wiretap vs surveillance, but on the actual crimes committed and who committed them. I keep seeing articles on wiretap vs surveillance, but nothing about what was the surveillance about.

Why is this so difficult for others to understand?

By accusing Obama of illegally wiretapping him, Trump succeeded in giant distraction and wild goose chase to give Repubs cover and change focus when media was concentrating on all the evidence about contacts with Russians by his campaign team and them lying about the contacts. After Flynn debacle and then Session's recusal and several days of Sessions' and Russian ambassador revelations involving other Trumpsters extending to the change in Repub platform to help Russia, Trump came out with the outrageous tweets against Pres. Obama.

There is a coordinated propaganda effort by right-wingers (led by commentators on Fox, Breitbart, Infowars, talk radio, Natl Enquirer etc) to take heat off Trump & Co. and put blame for their difficulties and the leaks onto Pres. Obama. Turning attention to attacking Pres. Obama feeds into the paranoia and hatred of Pres. Obama that Trump ramped up in his base of followers.

Repubs and WH are panicked over Trump's declining popularity and the Russian investigations and know they must do whatever necessary to keep his small rabid brainwashed base so delusional that they will not listen to any of the emerging and overwhelming evidence of Russian influence and collusion coming out in the mainstream media.

Out of the blue Paul Manafort just fell out of the sky and was chummy with Putin and Russian bigshots. Dems had such bad luck through this campaign. Buffoons campaign was in the toilet, Mercer Family came and gets rid of Russian ally Manafort, Comey steps in to help, Russia dumps Wikki Leak emails and the functually illiterate worst presidential candidate gets elected with voter suppression, and any other scheme Red politicans could come up with. Now we'''re trying to get rid of this corrupt piece of crap,, his con man family that is bleeding our USA treasury dry.

Fat blob of stupidity.
