http://time.com/4710456/donald-trump-time-interview-truth-falsehood/?xid=homepageHe is not living in any reality but his own. He can retain little bits of shallow information and spout things over and over and over but this thing is essentially substance free. He runs down every thought that flits across his mind, and what's on his mind is that he won, and things are happening and he hears things and he won. Oh yeah, and he won.

So many have tried to boil down DTs mental issues to one thing, but it is certainly possible to be a malignant narcissisist who also has dementia who also has ADD. Reading about his very early life and cruel behavior even in primary school, I got the feeling that something in this man's brain has been "broken" since a very early age.
He is now an old man who needs others looking out for his welfare. I'd have a lot more compassion if those "others" had not gone along with his mad idea of running for potus, and had those others not had the delusion they could control him once he got there.
We have a potus who is, colloquially speaking, batshit crazy. This is not just a family matter any more. They all have to go, and many of them need to go to prison.

And then when going back to try to get him to correct a few of the lies, the result was the same bullshit response again, after which we are treated to the usual M$M response (Chris Hayes-style) via the defacto "okay", subject dropped, move on, lies left to stand.
The whole thing continues to normalize the freak by even begging him to concede that his behavior is not normal, acceptable, or presidential by any previous precedent, with the result being the usual arrogant dismissal of the interviewer in return.

I found where he said it could happen, and that he thought it would be a good thing because, you know, immigrants.
And apparently, the New York Times had the word "wiretap" in a headline once, therefore everything Donald said about wiretapping was right.
And when he claimed something "happened last night in Sweden" (referring to Friday, Feb. 17th) he was actually predicting something would happen two days later (Monday, Feb. 20th). Therefore, he was right about Sweden.
By the way, Brexit.

He and his elections are products of a culture in which Jerry Springer, FOX, Rush Limbaugh, and an entertainment medium intent on humiliating people is so popular that cable news adopted the conflict driven model. "Let's bring some people on teevee and watch them fight." Why wouldn't a culture that accepts that kind of news and entertainment not elect someone who is spiteful and obsessed with insulting people?

(2,809 posts)Were not realistically evaluating a leader of the free world. I don't believe 10 percent of them attending ever heard how utterly rambling their hero was beyond sound bytes that echoed the more protracted proposals they'd already heard on Faux Noise. I honestly believe the majority of them were just so pumped full of adrenaline, shouting, flag waving, echoing any criticism of Hillary, shouting, texting the kids to be home or else, albeit so caught up in "the man" who would finally salvage this country from the scourge of Obama. It was sheer adolescent level hero worship so enthralled that no critical attention was paid to the entire lack of content. "Shutdown of Muslims...." the crowd goes wild. "Hillary should be prosecuted..." the crowd goes wild. "Send that protester to the hospital"... the crowd goes wild. "Drain the swamp..." the crowd going wild ignoring the notion that Trump's entire statements made no coherent or complete idea.
He's already lost thousands of them who really thought he'd imprison Hillary. More and more are catching on that their anti-Obama hero wears no clothes, and more will do so in coming years, if he lasts that long.
Trump has already done irreparable damage unless the entire gang of corrupt cronies he's placed are removed. The absolute peril he has placed our country into is nerve racking. He's played right into ISIS's hands. He's taken all the recovery of the U.S. respect worldwide regained under President Obama from the inept bumblings of GWB and thrown us all down the rabbit hole.
Hannity must be taking entire bottles of aspirin trying to defend his clown. I don't believe that within two years there will be one single sane person that can support this administration, only those just as batshit loco as the Frumper himself or worse. By then many of them will be incapable of voting due to advanced dementia.
I'll be around to vote in 2018 if we don't all get blown to smithereens before then. But I cannot see trickle down economics on steroids doing anything but place us into worse shape than the great depression by 2020. I'm studying my Portuguese as quickly as this 58 year old brain can absorb it. Even the unemployment numbers in Brazil may look like an opportune haven compared to what 4 years of this is poised to do to the U.S. My home is on the market. I'm selling out, I'm done. I won't stay for another bout of sleeping in my car at the hot springs wondering if I can scrape enough change to afford a pack of Top Ramen again cooked in a tent. Fuck that. It's happened every time these trickle-down bastards take over.
And half these flag waving fools are down there at shanty town with me wondering what went wrong every time.
